About The Institute
What could a subtitle be?
“Without your ears, your eyes grow stronger.”
The Deaf Institute was formed in 2010 by Kyle James-Patrick, not to be confused with a charity for deaf photographers – yet easily. :
The Deaf Institute is an organisation that specialises in visual art for image developing artists.
With years of experience in the main stream media industry, The Deaf Institute was forged so that artists and production would have freedom within creativity with no restrictions of external demands.
Our speciality lies in photography, but we also offer other visual services in the forms of video production, live imagery, print and site design.
The Deaf Institute will always pride itself on working to the highest quality available, with artists who share the same attitudes and determination.
Q: But why are you called the Deaf Institute? Are you deaf? Is this for deaf people?
Don’t let a single word throw you. Here are the top 3 most suited answers :
1. I work purely in pictures, I have no need for ears, I communicate via the eyes only.
2. As an artist I ignore all outside influence, my institute is deaf to the calls of constraint and conformism.
3. My logo is an eye chart, a reverse simile, a demand for concentration with the eyes only.

Hi Kyle,
Nice website and portfolio you have here!
Are you Deaf? I would love to meet you here in Vancouver. Do you sign in BSL or ASL?
Thanks
Forrest
The Deaf Institute is an art collective for audio free media specialising in photography, hence the logo being an eye chart.
Hello,
I was brought to your website by a word of mouth from a friend. Beautiful artwork. However, as it stands, I as a Deaf person need to know what claim you have to the word “Deaf Institute”.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, trying my best to create something worth looking at.
Peace, love and f%#king.

Yes, I’m confused. Is this a institution that supports deaf individuals, run by deaf individuals? Or is the term “Deaf” just being used in marketing?
